Когда я слышу свою речь, она звучит чуждо и неловко. Я чувствую себя обнаженным, выставленным напоказ. Это одновременно и мой и не мой голос. Я не произносил этих слов, с такой интонацией, таким тембром, такими акцентами, и все же я это сделал. Мне казалось, что я был более убедительным, а мои намерения гораздо более понятными и содержательными, однако это не так.

Что я говорю. Мои предложения звучат сложно, они полными пауз и ругательств. В них нет знаков препинания, четких отправных и конечных точек. Слова, они имеют слишком много значений. И все же ты киваешь, давая знать, что понимаешь и поддерживаешь меня.

Черт, это раздражает, мой язык подавляет меня. Каждая вещь вокруг меня, все, что я вижу, окутано понятиями, концептами, языком. Невозможно даже мельком увидеть, что под этим тяжелым одеялом языка. Я чувствую себя слепым. Как будто там находится мир, но я не могу его разглядеть. Под одеялом слишком жарко. Я скучаю по людям. Не могу сосредоточиться. Я чувствую, что я в поту. Мне нужен душ.

Анти-Юхани Маннинен – мультидисциплинарный художник, работающий с перформансом и звуком, продюссер электронной музыки и режиссер современного кукольного театра Kuuma Ankanpoikanen. В данный момент работает над двумя перформативными проектами Kallio Manninen и Rhinoceros. Он также является куратором и основателем арт-пространства Breathing (2012-), в котором работает в основном с искусством вне контекста готовых художественных форм, находящимся между и за границами идеи готовых художественных форм и жанров, и предоставляет платформу для более неопределенных проектов, практик и экспериментов, сочетая перформанс, беседу, упражнения, ситуации, обстановку, выставки, концерты, тусовки, производство и обучение вместе.

В последнее время он участвовал в New Performance Turku Festival (Turku 2015 and 2016), Supermarket Art Fair (Stockholm 2015), Helsinki Festival (Helsinki 2011 and 2014), Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma (Helsinki 2014 and 2016), Slush Music (Helsinki 2017), Mad House Helsinki (Helsinki 2018 & 2019), FinFringe (Turku 2019) and Kontula Electronic (Helsinki 2019).

When I hear myself speak, it sounds unfamiliar, embarrassing. I feel naked, exposed. It’s not my voice, and it is. I didn’t say these words, not with these tones, this timbre, this accent, and I did. I had an impression I was lot more convincing, much more clear with my intentions, with my content, and I was not.

What am I saying. I hear my sentences complicated, full of breaks, expletives. The sentences don’t have punctuation marks, clear starting or ending points. The words they have too many connotations. Yet, you nod, as to show me you understand and support me.

Damn it’s annoying, my language dominates me. Everything around me, everything I see, is covered with notions, concepts, language. It’s impossible to get even a glimpse through this heavy blanket of language. I feel blind. Like there’s a world out there, but I can’t see it. It’s too hot under the blanket. I miss humans. I can’t concentrate. I feel sweaty. I need a shower.

Antti-Juhani Manninen is a multidisciplinary artist working with performing and sound. He’s an electronic music producer, director at contemporary puppet theatre Kuuma Ankanpoikanen, and currently works with two performance projects Kallio Manninen and Rhinoceros. He’s the curator and the founder of art space Breathing (2012-), working mostly on the gray areas of art between and outside of the idea of ready art forms and genres, without a context of a ready art form and offering a platform for more uncertain projects, practices and experiments, combining performances, conversations, exercises, situations, circumstances, exhibitions, concerts, hanging out, processes and learning together.

Lately he has been invited to perform for example at the New Performance Turku Festival (Turku 2015 and 2016), Supermarket Art Fair (Stockholm 2015), Helsinki Festival (Helsinki 2011 and 2014), Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma (Helsinki 2014 and 2016), Slush Music (Helsinki 2017), Mad House Helsinki (Helsinki 2018 & 2019), FinFringe (Turku 2019) and Kontula Electronic (Helsinki 2019).
